OrbitRadar — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

OrbitRadar is a live 3D satellite tracker for iPhone and iPad. We built it to be private by default: No accountsNo adsNo third‑party trackersNo analyticsNo data collected
OrbitRadar has no sign‑in and collects no personal data. It runs from a satellite snapshot bundled inside the app, and any location or camera use happens only on your device — it never leaves it.

Data we collect

None. OrbitRadar has no accounts, no advertising and no third‑party tracking or analytics SDKs. We do not collect, sell or share any personal data, and we operate no server that receives your data.

Location

If you use the "observer" or AR sky‑view features, the app asks for your location while using the app. Your location is used only on your device — to work out which satellites are overhead and where to point the AR view. It is never sent to us or to any server. It is kept only on your device so the app can remember your observer position between launches, and you can clear it at any time in the app or by revoking the permission in Settings.

Camera & AR

The AR sky view uses your device camera to show the live sky behind the satellite overlay. The camera image is processed entirely on your device, in real time, and is never recorded, stored or transmitted. Nothing from the camera leaves your device.

Motion sensors

The AR compass reads the device's motion and orientation sensors to know where your device is pointed. This is used only on‑device and is never stored or transmitted.

Live data over the internet

OrbitRadar works fully offline from its bundled data. When a connection is available it may optionally fetch public, non‑personal data over HTTPS to enrich the view — for example a live cloud‑cover texture for the globe, and Wikipedia summaries or public space‑agency imagery when you tap an object. These requests contain no personal information — no location, no identifiers and no camera data — and are made directly to those public services. If there is no connection, the app stays fully usable.

What we do not do

Children

OrbitRadar is an educational, general‑audience app. It has no ads and no chat, and it collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above revised.
