Letter Wars — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026

Letter Wars is a word game for iPhone and iPad. We built it to be private by default: No adsNo third‑party trackersNo analyticsNo data selling
The little data the game needs lives on your device or in Apple iCloud. You can play entirely offline as a guest, and you can delete everything from inside the app.

Playing without an account

You can play Letter Wars fully as a guest. In guest mode nothing leaves your device: your coins, cosmetics, settings, achievements and progress live only in the app's local storage and are removed if you delete the app.

If you create a cloud profile

Online features (friends, the global leaderboard and online matches) use Apple iCloud (CloudKit). If you sign in and pick a username, the app stores:

This data is keyed to an anonymous iCloud identifier generated by Apple. The app never receives — and cannot see — your real name, email address, Apple ID, contacts or location.

Game Center

Live multiplayer uses Apple's Game Center, operated by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. The app only uses it to connect players in a match.

Purchases

Coin packs are sold as in‑app purchases through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — the app never sees your payment details. Coins and everything you unlock with them are stored on your device.

What we do not do

Deleting your account & data

Open Settings ▸ Delete Account inside the app. This permanently removes from iCloud: your profile (username and statistics), your friend code, the friendships and reports you created, your matchmaking entry, the online matches you started and every move you made. Local data (settings, coins, cosmetics) is removed by deleting the app from your device. The app uses no servers other than Apple's iCloud — no separate copy exists anywhere else.

Data we can't reach

One honest caveat: a few records are owned by other players and technically can't be modified from your device — an ex‑friend's own friend‑list entry naming you (it clears automatically the next time their app refreshes) and matches that an opponent started, which may keep your username in that player's match history.

Children

Letter Wars is a word game suitable for a general audience. It has no ads, no free‑text chat (only fixed emoji reactions), and collects no personal information beyond an optional self‑chosen username. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; a child can play fully offline in guest mode.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above revised.
